Just pull the tubes off your pickups at the back, bend them back on themselves and duct tape so they are kinked close or do this on the MDC end. If you have PP to use for speed you are laughing...

Agree with the earlier comments about bottom ends are clunks and knocks, top end produces lighter noises in the valvetrain. Only small possibility is a flexplate cracked maybe, otherwise lifters?...

I don't see why you couldn't run a step down transformer from your 110
V down to 12V. Get one slightly bigger than bilge pump requires and a regulated one. Should be cheap.
