Ok, been meaning to ask this for weeks but keep forgetting.

With no visible cracks in the heads or cylinders, and a blown head gasket, I was unsure of my next move. I searched the forums, etc, and figured it had to have been from the head gasket leaking water...

It did smoke some. Is there any way to verify a cracked cylinder wall below the piston without pulling the engine and tearing it down? Would this show up on a compression test?
