Thanks for your help. If you reach over motor from swim deck and reach down ther you should at least be able to feel if there is a connector there or a wire. Nobody has been able to do that for me...

I have bypassed the lanyard. And that has not cured problem. Everything was running fine 3 weeks ago until I noticed a crack in the side of engine block and pulled motor for rebuild with new block.
