Where are you hunting in KY? We are between Cadiz and Eddyville and have seen very few bucks, have plenty on cam but not seeing them in the stand. Hope for more movement this weekend.

The 1285 is a bit small for the 8.1 engine. Would look at a 14.75 X 15.5 at least. The prop should come off the spline with a little help from a hammer.

I would consider going to more pitch than 14.5...

I would consider going to more pitch than 14.5 with the gear ratio you have. We supplied Brendella with 14 X 16's as original equipment with that ratio. I would offer a 13.7 X 15.5 XMP for that set...

With the 13 X 14 that he tried being "re-pitched" I don't think it is providing a true account of how it should run. Working with him to get a true 13 X 14 to try.

The numbers sound right with a 13 X 13 on a PowerSlot trans. I would suggest trying our 13.7 X 17.5 LC 1 1/8" XMP 4-blade.

We used to call those boards "rev sticks" when we were racing stock outboard hydros. Used the sticks to run the engine as high as we could and still pump water at speed. Too high = no water as well...
