With the new strut bearings in you can really see how far off the alignment is.
Replaced the log and cleaned the packing hardware. Was surprised to find 4 sections of packing.

I went ahead and replaced the bearings.. Hacksaw, chisel and patience....

I noticed under the gas tank there was a 2"wide rubber strip. With age and water it deteriorated. Any suggestions where to get a new one before I reinstall?

Bouyhead, I have the same pulled but the criss bar was about 1/4" too thick for it to work with the tank in place. I will probably use it now to take it apart.
