I used almost 5 gal of resin for the stringers and general repairs, but I used roving which sucked up a lot of resin. I would not use roving again, I think your choice of 1708 is the right one.

yes, be careful of the top of the rudder - mine had some dings on the top of the rudder shaft that mushroomed it in a few places. I filed a bevel around the top of the rudder and it came out nicely....

@psycho- nice idea with the tube - I used a 1 gallon plastic bag, cut the corner and used it like a baker's icing bag. Worked nice, easy clean up.
