mine came back that way. First try vibrated badly lost a bunch of rpms back it went. Second try it was much better still had the look you were describing, still vibrated a bit, still down rpms....

Check the temp gauge. Believe it or not my impeller whistles when it's time to be replaced. Gauge will be a bit higher when it's doing it's whistling thing.

Put another prop on the boat from a friends. mine was 13x13 his 13x12 nice and smooth thank god! Just a bad rebuild on my prop. Giving them one more shot then it's new prop time!

I did replace it a few years ago. It was better by far but still would mess up a couple of times a year. I wasn't sure that it was the problem but the boat was very usable. I'll give it a shot again....
