The 8.1 has got a lot of bad press on this site. But there are some very knowledgeable people who indicate otherwise. I wouldn't shy away from one, especially in a big boat like the X45

In theory, there is plenty of time to winterize if there is an extended power outage. But I'd ask myself how bad an event made for an extended outage, and would I be free to get over and winterized...
