You almost need the bases, otherwise they are very low to the ground making it uncomfortable to load and unload.

Front loaders are very nice but be ready to spend extra time cleaning the front seals...

I think you should just be able to undo two clip attached to the rear seat bottom and then lift out the seat and place on top of the hand holds that are located on the sides of the rear seat
