I have two old-school boats, a 1991 Ski Pro with 5.7 MerCruiser, and the 1992 MC with 351 Indmar.

MerCruiser manual recommends to use Quicksilver 25W/40 oil (about $5/qt !), but in the same breath...

Since most boats have an open, non-pressurized cooling system, they need to run cooler thermostats than cars. The 195 is clearly too hot.

I know it doesn't matter any more, but having driven I-90 through Montana and I-80 through Wyoming, I would much rather drive I-90. Yes, there are passes to contend with, but Montana is simply a...

I'd be worried about the amount of stress trim tabs would place on the structure. There's a LOT of leverage there.

Free Holley 4010

I'm getting rid of the OEM Holley 4010 that came with my PS 205. It works. The boat started ok, but ran a little rough until warm. It worked great for skiing, best holeshot that I've experienced. ...

While you don't need ACL repair, I'd recommend that you do. If...

replacing 4010 with 4160

disclaimer: I've never done this before.

I'm replacing my 4010 with a newly-rebuilt Holley 4160.
