I have a 30 gallon and I winterize my sprinkler system with it. I would not want any smaller unit as I already have to wait a couple minutes between zones for the tank to recover.

I had the same problem on my 94, I re-tapped the threaded and installed 1/4 turn ball valves.
Easy to drain and no more thread problems.

I use the J hose to fill it with anti freeze...

I use the J hose to fill it with anti freeze also.

The J hose runs from the engine water pump up to the thermostat housing.
