I bought my boat used after the original owner towed it 800 miles missing the starboard bunk board, there were two deep gouges in the bottom where the steel bunk mounts were rubbing on the boat...

Yes, for both of you, It is odd when a motor just quits without some warning. KILL SWITCH is often overlooked and not thought about but is a very likely culprit. Verify that the circuit is alive too.

The higher the octane the better, 100LL runs great in any gas engine. I am a aircraft mechanic by trade and can say yes it maybe overkill to go beyond the required octane need but it will not hurt...

I dont think vapor lock, since it is a carberated engine I doubt it will vapor lock. The carb bowl stays full of fuel and it would have to boil out of the float bowl. I would check the float height...

I thought that too at first but what I read always refers to the 1.5:1 velvet drive. I think the v drive unit shows 1.46:1 or 1.26:1 ratio. The powerslot transmission is a velvet drive right?
