Brian, one thing to consider is that maybe it isn't your pump since it seems to be out of the series of problem pumps. Have you tested voltage at pump, tested fuel pressure, etc?

You MAY be able to do that. Mine didn't really have a lot of slack in the orange lines. The tools make it pretty easy to remove the lines though. You'll find that you have to really move the unit...
