Not sure how yours are wired but I had a similar issue that came from a pinched wire in one of the speaker clamps to the tower.Could also have a loose connection at the amp itself.

A puller was used to remove it and the engine builder installed it onto the rebuilt motor. I plan on order a new one just to be safe. They seem to be pretty cheap from what I have seen.
