For Non goofy—surf tab is 100 percent. and anywhere between zero and 30 percent adj plate. 30 percent seems to make the most difference. If I go more than that, the top of the wave foams.

If you go X25 with the 5.7, look for one that has been re-propped(with full weight and people in the boat it takes too long to plane out on standard prop). If not, go for the 6.0 or 6.2.

Agreed. And I have the 6.2. It's awesome in an x25, but if I was springing for the xstar, I'd go 7.4. For the engine note alone.
