My 95 has the pylon in the middle, I would guess someone removed it. I removed mine since I have a tower and don't use the pylon for anything...makes it seem much roomier to not have it in the way.

When you get pushed out into the flats make sure you carve towards the wake to catch it again...you pretty much want the wake to hit the side of your board so there is more surface area to get you...

I have a few launchpads with an uberpump, just clip in the hose and toss the pump overboard, reverse for emptying. Not as nice as just flipping a switch, but it is cheap and easy.

Just guessing but, the v-drive unit may be a 1.5:1, I seem to remember reading somewhere that all the old VRS maristars are 1.5:1 which would make sense if the v-drive unit is 1.5:1.
