Just out of curiosity, do the 1:1 tranny's care which way is forward and which is reverse? If the same exact transmission is bolted to standard and reverse drive engines, that opens up possibilities...

It's a Ford based motor but it sounds like as long as I can find bearings for whatever underside I need, it'll be fine.

Oil analysis shows higher than normal copper and lead so my guess is the bearings took a beating... They told me that my lead and copper values were similar to an engine that had been running the oil...

The other option is that maybe your pitot hose has a crack in it. You could pull the hose off your gauge, plug it with a golf tee or bolt, and lay it in the boat where you can see it. If water...

Grind or replace the crank

Long story short, after only 2 years on a fresh rebuild, my drain hose for the oil broke and all the oil ran out of the pan while I was driving. Caught it early so the engine still works but it feels...

Idles high in nuetral but not in gear

Last night I was noticing that the boat idled fairly normal at first. Nuetral idle was around 900-1000rpms and in gear idle was around 700-800rpms. As time went on though, the nuetral idle got lower...
