Most common cause of early bearing failure is bad installation technique. I would try to find a local industrial supplier that stocks bearings. These should be off the shelf for around $5-$10.

Wow, that is certainly a surprise. Every picture i have ever seen of bow speakers in a 205v has had spacers, that's why i assumed it was necessary. Great news, I wont bother making any spacers now.
