I was having the same problem after a rebuild....

I was having the same problem after a rebuild. Adjusted the front float and the problem went away. Float setting is very critical to prevent this problem.

My 81 S & S has fiberglass over the stringers, would that be original. Everyone says they are wood. If so would the stringers be wood encapsulated with glass. And the newer boats be a fiberglass.

Soaked in carb cleaner overnite, then ultrasonic cleaner for about an hour. If the float bowl on the secondaries is set too high would it drip from the primarys?

yes, I installed a back fire preventer kit when I rebuilt the carb. It is very frustrating when the boat stalls all the time when trying to pull skiers.

Will check power valve. If I did have a back fire the kit should have prevented the power valve from blowing. Also I have mics and toolmakers square to check for warpage.
