Fuel pump relay

Engine cranks but won't start as it is not getting fuel. I disconnected one fuel line and hooked up the fuel pump directly to the battery and the fuel pumps well.

now all gauges are dead except aftermarket depth...

now all gauges are dead except aftermarket depth gauge. Radio and accessories all work fine. Engine starts right up and purrs. Does the instrument cluster ground to the back of the alternator?
