Best I can tell, you need to buy new hubs... maybe even axles to upgrade.

Like I said, my oil bath hubs have worked flawlessly for 8 years, so until I have reason to, I am leaving them as is.

I think the plastic stuff will help. The rigid metal line is not only loud, but due to it's rigidity, it does not lay flat in the tube and just kind of bounces around like a spring.
