Also, if you look around you can find better deals on most, but not all, parts. I get my impellers from marinepumpdirect.com. $40 for two Sherwood impellers. Can't beat that deal.

Be careful about 'prying' things out. You will damage the brass pump housing. Someone did that on my water pump and i had to file down the damage. Lube it up, it'll come out.

I'd check to see if you have suction at each step of the water intake chain. Are you getting suction at the raw water intake? Are you getting suction at the sea strainer? Check your sea strainer...

Yeah, I had to take the entire pump out to fix it. Total PITA. Luckily I'd recently changed the serpentine belt and knew how easy it was to remove and reinstall the belt so I could remove the pump....
