Seems like a collar just in front of the strut could help, wonder if you can get zinc shaft collars.

I had a tarp with a similar system, only the pole came through the bracket, then cord lifted the tarp to the top of the pole.

The problem as I saw it was that the tarp was not reinforced...

Proper procedure is to have the fluid to the top mark when hot - to do this you want to get to full operating temp, stop (floating), and check level.


Since this is annoying, get your hot level set...
