Yep that's how I leave mine and it looks like the exact same rope!
Not sure if I understood the 2nd question but I just tie the anchor line to the bow line and throw it off the side of the boat....

Got the aluminum fitting off the tank today. Used some Freeze-off and some firm but gentle torque and eventually it gave up and broke free. Thought for sure the aluminum 90 fitting would break off...

Check the anti-siphon valve on the fuel tank. Mine was running fine until last year, noticed some issues and figured it was related to almost 30 years old so rebuilt carb and had more issues crop up....
