Overheating

I find with a similar system that I can not get enough water flow from my municipal connection to allow the motor to run for long before she starts overheating. I have a 2008 Star.

This is how bad your mounts could be out by

The force of the shaft on the coupler pushed my shaft through the couple by about an inch. I removed everything that moves or turns or seals and replaced everything. Setting up the engine alignment...

Went to a friends glass shop and rolled the shaft on a 20mm thick plate glass. It is perfect. That was a good tip thanks.

The Photo shows what I had to contend with

Replacing the shaft as it had worn through the coupler by 1/2 inch. Had to lift the motor at the back by 1 inch and drop in the front by 1/2 inch to get perfect alignment for the strut. No accident...

Here is a photo of how far my alignment was out. To do a rough alignment I loosened the Strut bolts. Can you believe this is how far out the alignment was without any vibration.

Screws out

When putting the new shaft in I realized that the shaft was way to low coming through the transmission. I thus loosened the strut to see if I fastened the coupler where would the shaft be in a strut....

Its been 2 months of struggling. Made a ring spanner with a 6 ft extension and could still not turn the nut. Ended up cutting it off with a dremel. Took hours.
