If the trans is out, then it is a 5 minute job to replace the seal. Like pulling and installing a hub seal after the hub is off the trailer. Only I would be a little bit more...

No idea on the front seal. I only replaced what was leaking (1 seal).

I did not try it, but you should be able to test it. Put a quart of fluid in and see what comes out.
