To my knowledge, the five blade props are actually reducing overall performance in MOST cases. The OJ TMZ was mainly tested at Travis Moye's wakeboard school. He has two lakes that run about 2000...

700 is good
I actually have a similar system rigged into my prostar. We ran a reverse pump and installed and overflow. When I was riding behind the prostar I would fill up the back sack which was about 700 lbs...

Thank you all
Greg...
Running that much weight is not counterproductive if you are training for competition. I often do tone down the wake and slow the speed when learning new tricks, but I need that much weight...

'07
My '07 has had no issues. I have an '08 prostar as well, no issues. When I say no, I mean none. It may seem silly or false to some, but the biggest problem that I have ever had with my X-Star is that...

A Funny Thing...
So the person I originally referred to in my original post does not usually frequent this post to my knowledge, but mysteriously, he now has the boat on the hoist without the ballast full. And he...

Does anybody put boat on hoist with ballast?
I completely disagree with putting the boat on a hoist with ballast in it, as the user manual states it is not a good idea... BUT, my neighbor across the lake constantly keeps his stock full as well...

A good thing
Like stated before, maintenance is a great thing. Always ask to see invoices from oil changes and tune ups and make sure that they were done at relatively safe intervals.
Also, in my experience,...

Same problem
Hey,
I did the same exact thing in my '08 prostar on the river when I was living in Mississippi. We replaced all the parts that you mentioned, but after doing water tests with the new hardware, the...

x 25
The x 25 is the only boat that has a comparable wake to the x-star in my opinion. I am not saying that the x30 or x 45 have bad wakes, but the x 25 does produce a better wake. The x25 also has the...

Oj
Hey,
I run an OJ XMP on my x-star and I have a lot of weight in it. The XMP is very similar to the Acme 1285. Unless you plan on wakeboarding over 75% of the time with more than stock ballast, I...

virtually the same
I have a 2008 prostar 197 with a minitower. I also have custom ballast added to the back so it is pretty much an x-7. Because most of the weight from the tower is balanced closer to the bow than the...

FSR vs. KABOOM
Hey guys,
I have always used FSR and it works like a charm but I have noticed that the boat stains a little easier each time that I use it. Probably because it has oxalic acid and can damage the...

No worries, Houston. We all can be iffy in the morning. In Mississippi, I was on a bayou about 400 yards from the beach. I am now on a lake with surrounding hills. We are actually about 200 feet...

The '08 prostar has 745.
The 07' X-Star has 448, but the engine was replaced in 2010. I forgot how many hours the old engine had.

By The Way
A 4800 lb hoist rating will do the trick for an X-Star. Just make sure you empty ALL of your ballast before you put it on the lift, even if your lift is meant to support 30K lbs, these boats are not...

The 2004 X-Star is a great boat. I have pretty much the same boat, and yes these boats are built for the long haul. Mastercrafts really last forever. Speaking of hauling, I load mine with about 3800...
