Just an FYI that the hull on the 86 and 90 are the same. The top deck was changed to the 'new' style 87-90 but running surface was same 86-90.

I polish over the decals. Just try not to compound them and use a light touch on the machine when getting close to the decals.

You can do it by hand but it takes some elbow grease. For wht you ar describing it should work fine. You will have to use a polish after the Superduty as it will leave the gel looking a bit hazy.

Base engine in the Sportstar that year was the Chevy 305 aka 5.0 which is still a TBI EFI. Still a decent lump as I believe it was putting out the same 275 hp as the earlier years non-Vortec 5.7.

Aren't those pieces just flat with the odd shape? From my recollection of my '88 I think so. If so it would be an easy piece for any glass shop to cut.

So far the reviews of these EcoDiesels are very positive on how they tow and drive. The hp number is really no concern and the Torque is big and comes on almost immediately.
