I'd say go for it for the easy duty cycle You described.
Functioning trailer brakes would be a bonus.

Wood and carpet have been used a long time...
You can find used ones on Craigslist. I would think used 4000 lb w canopy should be in the $2000-3000 range. A bit more w motor and nice newer canopy...

Drop down trailers are narrow. If you can keep the trailer low, may be ok. I'd be worried about high CG.
Can you use your boat trailer instead. They work well.

Congrats. I'm sure you will enjoy it. Closer to the water means you can likely hang on the boat and watch the lake if it is blown out or busy. Will likely seem like less of a parking lot.

Looking at that setup you could likely leave the lift in for winter. Reason for pulling stuff is for ice shifting and blowing across the lakes. You don't have much there to blow in the nook....

Is it an issue to have a switch to turn on when you want to use the water? The red lion is similar to what a lot of people use for sprinkler pumps and works great.

Have you used the solid ones? I have a slotted and like the non slip.
Not sure about teak oil but if you use sikkens/varnish product the solid are slippery.
