Nice looking, what do the two swing out pieces do? I get one is out depending on the flipping between the sides installed on, but is it a blocker of water flow over the top or what is the purpose?

my airdock is protected in a cove, yours looks like it gets tested in decent amount of wake/current there. Glad to know that it holds up in rougher conditions than I put it through.
