Thanks guys, I read the link and just could not glue down the sender without testing it first. I'll never admit to doing things half *** either but I used the wax to secure the sender until I test it...

What should I use to glue in my transducer? I am thinking silicone caulking in case I ever need to remove it.

I would turn the engine over until the piston was at the top and see if it is there. You may be able to hook it with a coat hanger then. But, if you did'nt see it with a bore scope I doubt it's in...
