If you forget your rear plug... in 5 years of owning my xstar Iíve never taken the rear plug out, no reason to. All the water drains from the center plug

There’s plenty of room to install a shut off...

There’s plenty of room to install a shut off valve (I’ve thought about that) in the rear of an xstar. You can virtually fit 2 grown adults between the front of the engine and the back of the boat....

So, an xstarís rear plug is completely worthless, itís got such a deep keel that the water always settles in the middle of the boat, so I always use the middle plug to drain water.

Take a couple 750's and put them in the rear lockers, make sure they're as low as possible to minimize any rolling of the hull...
