Acme 431: 13x13 LH 3-blade 1"

You're correct, the original 454 was a RH rotation engine, as most cc's were prior to '89. This one was repowered with a standard rotation Mercruiser, hence the lefty prop that I'm advertising on a...

Acme 431: 13x13 LH 3-blade 1"

For sale, nice used Acme 431. It is a 13x13 3-blade CNC prop for a 1" shaft. I bought it for my '87 Barefoot Nautique that has been repowered with a Mercruiser 502 Mag MPI. The holeshot is...

If you are getting rpm increases without corresponding speed changes, and the transmission is not slipping, then the prop is flexing. I would consider the prop to be junk if you're getting 700rpm...

351W Rebuild

Wait, you had a 13x13 and now have a 14x18? Which trans do you have? There is no engine/trans capable of turning both props, they are different by a factor of 50%. If you have a 1:1 with a 14x18,...

trailer bearing service help needed

The only times I've seen races fall right out and new ones slide right in by hand, the hub was cracked. They are not always easy to see, especially if theyre still dirty and full of grease. Even...

Misalignment will usually quell vibration due to the side loading, not cause or exacerbate it. I'm betting bent shaft or prop.

You can buy replacement gears of all types for both flat tappet and roller cams. The rollers are just more common since a gear swap is required with the conversion. It is not out of the question that...

351W Rebuild

A 13x13 is a way wrong prop for a powerslot (implied by the current 14x18).

Not sure if the video showcased what you were trying to describe but it is highly unlikely you are overpowering your prop...

302 is out of luck but the 351c/460 msd only requires a gear swap in order to be used on a 351w. My buddy runs one on his stroker 408w.

Anyone who thinks there is a world of difference between points and EI in terms of starting ease or performance gains was comparing apples to oranges- surely the points set you switched from was in...

Voltage at the plug is a function of the coil not the trigger mechanism (points vs EI). The dwell of that trigger could arguably be a little better controlled on certain EI systems, but I call BS on...

Well this thread took a turn, ha.

The Fish is a very cool boat but the wake is lousy by all accounts... Unless you're barefooting (and then the issue is top end speed). The wake is big but the lip...

Probably 800 or so for a Coversports (possibly more), assuming their pricing is in line with the now-defunct Rankin covers that pioneered that towable style of cover.

Skiboatcovers should be less-...

The cam lobe to lifter interface is the critical one, and the one addressed by CR's break in service. They do number and box up the lifters, obviously- otherwise this would be pointless.

A proper head service (including vj) will cost 75-85% of a pair of rebuilt gt40p's, at least around here. I wouldn't put a dime into the stock heads, but that's just me.

Prussian blue will confirm if your fit on the taper is ok or not... Lapping compound would be needed to address a poor fit.

This does not sound like a gasket failure. Did you remember to re-torque the bolts after a few heat cycles following reinstallation? If not, there's a good chance they'll loosen up.

In case you...

In all seriousness, there is no "magic bullet" when it comes to prop selection. There is no prop that would push a x-star to 80. You can't simply add pitch and make the boat faster, it just doesn't...
