Home prop repair works about as well as doing your own dental work, if your not a dentist. DIY prop work can make the prop worse than it was and most often makes it unable to be repaired correctly.

For a loaded 6.2 try our WAKEPRO V-3 #805, 14.75 X 15.25 or #815, 14.75 X 14.5. Heavy loads suggest #825, 14.75 X 13.875.

The 1285 is a bit small for the 8.1 engine. Would look at a 14.75 X 15.5 at least. The prop should come off the spline with a little help from a hammer.

I would consider going to more pitch than 14.5...

I would consider going to more pitch than 14.5 with the gear ratio you have. We supplied Brendella with 14 X 16's as original equipment with that ratio. I would offer a 13.7 X 15.5 XMP for that set...
