How old is the fuel line? It could be collapsing and restricting fuel delivery. You could rig up a remote fuel can and hose and see if symptoms disappear.

Thanks waterlogged, I tried installing it last night but there was too much of a bend and it would collapse. I picked up a wire reinforced hose that I will install tonight.

For what it's worth why not put a $40 flamethrower coil on it. It's designed for the ei. It also creates way more voltage at 40,000 peak v. You have a 30 year old coil that may be the problem
