Mice and rats can survive weeks without food but can't go 24 hours without water. they can smell water right through a hose and know that chewing it will quench their thirst. Sorry for your troubles....

I service all types of appliances for the past 40 years. The induction ranges are the most pricey to fix. The modules are a non-serviceable item and run in the $300 t0$450 range just for the parts....

I leave the plugs out but take a Q tip with some grease and lightly coat the threads. No rusting. I keep all the plugs in a Ziplock bag with any clamps and put them on the helm.
