I am with them, take it out take the fuel bowls off and see what's going on inside. Rebuilding a Holley carb is really easy too. You rebuilt it 10 years ago, it might be time for a rebuild anyways....

I know it's a pain but pull your distributor and check the internals. It may simply need a rebuild, new bushing, springs, etc. A bad distributor pulling too much timing can easily make the healthiest...

There is a long very thick stainless steel bar that attaches to that bracket on the inside of the boat and then attaches to the rear lifting ring.

Yeah, I just bought a new prop, strut bearings, rudder box seals, Tranny rebuild kit and Tranny couplers. I am going to keep this thread updated with all the work.

Interesting, I have not heard about the hull imperfections causing low pressure areas. As for propeller the only thing wrong with mine is the bend in one of the fins, no pitting.

-Replace strut bearings
-either replace or have rudder repaired, comes down to money
-Replace the prop

That is my suspicion that it is more from the bearings than the prop. The prop does have one small bend in a bade, it is in one of the pictures. As far as the rudder being replaced, I don't think it...

Yup, getting new strut bearings, the discoloration on the strut is not pitting. Not sure how to explain it, its not pitted, the surface is actually raised.

I found out the 454 casting numbers the previous owner had put in, corresponds with a 1996 and newer Gen VI big block. Fuel economy was pretty dang good and I can only expect the economy to go up...

Here are some pictures from Big Bear, Ca. Took the boat this weekend and discovered that the tranny has seen its last days, the strut bearings are definitely done and I had horrible cavitation burn....
