The drain nut had room to tighten on the Transmission cooler ,so that may well have been the cause of the overheating at idle.

I love this board for stuff like this.

I'd suggest the 69" Sixam 2 point ,it is a great short line ski that works at longer lengths & is forgiving ,a few people at my club use them with great results. Always try before you buy!:)
