The presence of fuel in the line doesn't really prove anything. You need to attach a fuel pressure gauge at the fuel rail and test it under various load conditions.

I just used some nuts that I had in my garage. Experimented with a few until I found what worked. Sorry I can't tell you the exact specs. But 3/8 or maybe 5/16 sounds about right.

I wouldn't mount it permanently because the hose is too short to reach over the back/front/sides of the boat, depending on where the inflatable is.
