Malibus ski nice... But they're Malibus. Barefoot Nautiques have awesome tables but tall wakes...

Sounds like you need some help tuning your carb (and likely ignition as well) if a $3k efi kit is looking appealing.

The complexity of the swap may be a struggle for someone who can't dial in a...

150-160 is more typical on a PCM 351w with a 143 stat, but 170 wouldn't worry me much.

Impeller is new? Double check hose clamp tightness everywhere... Don't use a screwdriver.

Unless the transmission was acting up in some way, I would not touch it.

Yes on the damper, but it is transmission specific, not engine.

Impact wrench on the flywheel bolts.

Gave you all the info...

Either your gauges are inaccurate or your prop is junk. 4700 on a 1.52:1 with a 14x18 should net you much more than 40mph.

157 tooth ring gear. Local auto parts stores should have it for $20. Cross reference a mid 60's 6cyl manual transmission Mustang.

7/16? If you've modified the factory cast iron heads then all bets are off. Sounds like you converted to studs. Stock set up heads with the 5/16" pedestals will clear the crane/fms roller rockers.

Ford racing (normal height) valve covers will clear 1.6 ford/crane rockers and presumably 1.7's as well.

PCM gaskets are meant to block the rear water passage. This keeps the water from following the path of least resistance (low point) and forces water up and over the top of the riser. Makes for more...

Acme 431: 13x13 LH 3-blade 1"

You're correct, the original 454 was a RH rotation engine, as most cc's were prior to '89. This one was repowered with a standard rotation Mercruiser, hence the lefty prop that I'm advertising on a...

Acme 431: 13x13 LH 3-blade 1"

For sale, nice used Acme 431. It is a 13x13 3-blade CNC prop for a 1" shaft. I bought it for my '87 Barefoot Nautique that has been repowered with a Mercruiser 502 Mag MPI. The holeshot is...

351W Rebuild

Wait, you had a 13x13 and now have a 14x18? Which trans do you have? There is no engine/trans capable of turning both props, they are different by a factor of 50%. If you have a 1:1 with a 14x18,...

351W Rebuild

A 13x13 is a way wrong prop for a powerslot (implied by the current 14x18).

Not sure if the video showcased what you were trying to describe but it is highly unlikely you are overpowering your prop...
