So I am in the process of rebuilding my 71c and getting some of these smaller snap rings off is a pita - I bought the "heavy duty" snap ring pliers and they aren't helping.....any tricks to get these...

Lost reverse AGAIN.....
Last summer I lost reverse - bought a used velvet drive 71c 1:1 in nice shape and installed it; worked great. Now I have same issue, no odd noise, vibration or anything - just won't engage in...

4 blade prop questions..
So I put a new 13x13 OJ 4-blade on my '79 SNS (351w - 1:1 velvet drive) and the increased acceleration is amazing! I did notice that now the motor will rev up to 5,000 and maybe higher; didn't think...

Starter issues....

New Arco starter on my '79 SNS with 351W, sometimes it just spins without engaging the flywheel and I'm hoping i didn't chop teeth...

It seems like putting these heads on a 351w...
It seems like putting these heads on a 351w woudln't be that difficult but how difficult was it to get the old manifolds off the stock heads? Any tricks? It seems that many of my exh manifold...

When starter gets on a broken tooth I turn the propeller by hand - or have whoever is in the water do it; seems to work. Rocking the boat has also worked. I had trans out twice and knew I should...
