Check the connectors on the back. There is big connector and a small connector. The small one is from the mmdc and is not needed. I was having the same issue, unplugged the mmdc and it works great...

I had a similar issue and it was the Y splitter for the remotes. Try unplugging the remote cables from the back of the head unit. You may have a bad cable or remote.
