I've had a TPS do the same thing. It was caused by moisture getting in it (on a boat? imagine that). New ones are pretty cheap, but you can put it in an oven at around 300 degrees for a while to dry...

Starting a carb boat is no different than starting a carb car- one pump of the throttle to set the choke, and turn the key. It doesn't need to be "primed". If you are pumping the throttle several...

You mentioned valve lash- you don't have adjustable rockers, so I hope you figured that out and torqued down the rocker bolts. It will run real bad and come apart if you didn't.

Erratic tach

Boat is a '98 Maristar with an LT1, 125 hours. Today the tach was somewhere around 50% too high for the first hour out. After that, it was fine. Did the same thing last year- sometimes accurate,...

A lot of pumps turn up on Ebay, but if he has one now, just have it rebuilt. Trying a used one is usually a waste of money. Same with the injectors- send them to the pump shop and have them gone...

I was at my local dealer last week- He said MC makes 2400 boats per year, and I'm sure they have no problem finding 2400 buyers. He is sold out for the year. It sounded like many of his buyers were...

I recently sold my Fountain 27, and really miss it. It wasn't the fastest boat on the water, but plenty fast for me, at 75+. Personally, I think that's fast enough for a 27. My dream boat would be a...

Didn't know there was a MariStar 200 in '99. Thought '99 should be a 210VRS.

I bought my '98 200VRS LT1 last fall for $16,500, 113 hours and near mint. Trailer had a cracked fender, and the color is...
