I had the same problem with my '87 a couple years ago and the problem was he rubber fuel line from the fuel tank to the fuel pump. Ethanol softens the rubber hose and the sucking of the pump can...

I'm 55 and ski regularly with a 68 year old, free skiing no course. He is probably 5 best skier on the lake and carves up the cove we ski in. Age is a number just keep carving.
