Yes, if I give it some throttle it seems to stop the surging, but when I bring it back down, problem persists. It does seem to randomly go away, mostly after it's warm. Very strange

Not many vacuum lines but the one you're referring to seems to be in good order. The pressure regulator hose is on the left in the picture below. What's the best way to check for vacuum leaks?

2003 x9 with 350 MCX has a RPM hunting issue. This has happened twice in the past 5 days when cold starting on the lift. At cold start up, RPM's run to ~1200 RPM's, then down to ~700, then back up...

I had a 91' 190 and it had two studs on bottom...

I had a 91' 190 and it had two studs on bottom and 4 bolts. BTW....I had to replace both the front and back transmission seals. I recommend replacing while you have it out.

My x-9 has a battery cover but all it does is cover the terminals and is not waterproof. Mine does get water down in there. I just take a shop vac and suck it out from time to time.
