Treat the fuel, change the oil, fog the cylinders, moth balls in plastic containers around the boat, battery/s on a maintainer. Should be good to go after that.

Mine just did the same thing last week. It too only happens when the speed control is on and only when in rpm mode. Never had the problem in speed mode yet. My solution, use speed mode.

To be honest he's gonna end up just cruising it most of the time, we'll stick to surfing my 45. I know he'll need twins primarily for docking. The marina's, currents and wind around here is tough.

With added ballast a 45 will throw a monster surf wake. I can't speak for the other boats but i'm sure they're good too. 45's board wake is great too, you might just have to ride a few mph faster...
