Refinished the Teak Platform and installed Retractable Stainless Ladder
Took a little break from stereo installation to refinish the swim platform...

After sanding and the first coat of teak oil, it's looking much better...

I will be mounting a retractable stainless steel ladder to the platform as well, to aid some older folks who come with us in getting back on board...

Pics of it to follow...

Looks darn good! Nice work.

Thanks for the compliment. Added a couple of more coats of teak oil.

I also had added a couple of extra teak supports for the ladder installation.

Here's the ladder installed and in its retracted position. You can see the stainless carriage bolts that had to be added.

Here it is deployed. Three steps and deep enough to aid our older guests in getting back on board.

Side shot of the deployed ladder. It sits at a nice angle when deployed so you are not climbing straight up.

Can't wait to get the boat back in the water and give it a try... Pretty happy with how it turned out, considering that a ladder on a ski boat is not really typical. Should make the family outings with the older relatives much more enjoyable.

I really like how that looks and I would think it performs pretty good. Approximately how much do you have in the teak? I wouldn't mind making one at some point, thanks for posting.

That looks great. Mind sharing where you got the teak supports and the ladder? I'd like to do the same thing to make it easier for my parents.

Thanks Guys... Wasn't too keen about putting a ladder on a ski boat, but pretty happy with how it turned out.

I ordered the two Teak supports from:

Less than $30 delivered to my house. I emailed the owner and had everything cut to my specifications. He sent me a PayPal invoice. All I had to do was drill some holes and screw them to the bottom of the platform and put teak oil on them.

I got the stainless retractable ladder from iBoats:

Picked up 6 stainless bolts, nuts and washers at the local hardware.

Less than $160 in the whole deal...

Great info...thanks! I didn't want to put a ladder on mine either, but it'll really help my folks and the little ones.

Usability report...

The ladder works great... Easy to deploy, easy to store... Functions perfectly.

In the end, glad I installed it...
