Wireless bluetooth
Added another winter project....Wireless Bluetooth.

I know nothing about Bluetooth, but have been researching the inter-web.
I have a older clairion deck with wetsounds ws420.

2 questions: Should I

1-By pass the older deck and plug a Bluetooth receiver into the ws420 3.5mm jack.

2-Or buy a new clarion deck with built in Bluetooth ready?Like this

That is an old model, you want the M303

Love the M502; if you don't require a CD player.

I'm going with the M303, connected to a MW2 wired remote (fits stock location perfectly), and finally a MF1RF wireless infrared waterproof remote when out on the swim deck etc. The M303 has all the features including the Bluetooth capability and works perfectly with all the above said extras...and then thinking of adding the WS Bluetooth to the WS420, nicely mounted together in one unit/mount that WS just came out with

if it were me I would bypass the Bluetooth all together and get one with the USB port in the front... Stick a flash drive with a bunch of music in it forget about it

What model Clarion do you currently have? Im guessing it does not have a pair of AUX RCA ins? Thats where I would connect the BT to if thats an option. Unless theres something you want to retain with a traditional head-unit like A/FM or want USB, I would not purchase a new head-unit, just take the BT right to the EQ.

I bought this adapter last year and it has worked great since I installed it.

Get an RF remote instead of an IR one. The IR's don't work well in sunlight.

I love having Bluetooth in my truck for talking on the phone. That part works great. For playing music, it is not very good. The sound is muted and at times I have a fair amount of static. Granted I have a non-smart phone, so it is a very basic phone. My truck stereo also has a USB port and playing music from a thumb drive works great.
