Trailer Tires

Just got my new trailer tires from thatsmrmastercraft. A big thank you to Peter for sorting the shipping fiasco out. These Kenda Loadstars look like a big improvement on the old GY Marathons!

Thank you, sir. It was indeed interesting getting those tires outbound. Amazing how fast delivery happened once they were under way.

Thanks again. http://www.actuarialoutpost.com/actu...ilies/toth.gif

An expensive lesson. Hand torque all trailer wheels, then re-torque after 50 miles.

I grew up on a farm and have changed hundreds of tires in my life on about anything with wheels. I rotate my own tires, blah blah blah. I hammer them on with an impact wrench and call it good. Never have I had a problem. First time in my life I use a torque wrench on lug nuts .... Forgot to pack my torque wrench on our trip, which was going to remind me to check them .... oops. On a positive note, since I had switched to 15" rims and D range tires, it was our first long trip with the boat that didn't result in a blow out.

Derail over - Peter has great service and some nice looking options.

How much extra fender clearance do you need to go up from 14" to 15" wheels? I understand the inch difference I'm wondering if anything else comes into play. I trailer the boat 200+ miles a week to diffrent lakes.. Really hate the blow outs.

Thanks to thatsmrmastercraft, I am going to have some used and new trailer tires available very soon. I should have more info after the first of the year once I get everything changed over. They will all be 14".
