What Bindings To Upgrade To?
Since my season has been over for a while, I started looking at upgrading my bindings. The ski is a Radar MPD and I really like it, and my current bindings some HO's (Basis I believe). I know that this stuff is personal preference, but there's a lot of bindings out there that I haven't tried, so I'm basically looking for suggestions.

What I don't like about my current bindings is that they usually start to come loose after a few minutes, and the pull straps flop around because they're so long. I was recommended the HO animals, but I read a lot of people saying that the later ones aren't made as well and can break/rip easily. I'm leaning towards a binding like the animals or an actual boot, but don't want to spend several hundred bucks yet.

I like the softer bindings myself I ski a radar vector and absolutely love it . We do a ski school twice a year where you have the ski on for a long time between trips thru the course and I am the only one that doesn't complain of foot cramps

Hmm, the vector looks similar to my basis bindings. How is it different?

I have 2012 Animals.. I love them... it's a very good cross binding... I would give the Apex a try if you could.. however the Animals are a lot cheaper and give you the lateral control to improve your skiing without spending too much.

Yes your current binding are the Basis boots.

I went from Connelly Sidewinders to Radar Vectors and absolutely love the Vectors. They're softer and seem to mold to your feet. There was no break in period and you can put them on dry. Like wearing a pair of skate shoes.

My feet would cramp with the Sidewinders and had a short period of time I could wear them before the cramps set in. No issues at all with the Vectors. I will say though that the Vectors do have a looser feel than the Sidewinders and took some time to get used to but I think that's just part of the design.

Sorry for the late response. I appreciate the suggestions. I just got a gift certificate for and I see they have the '13 vector binding for $120. Does that sound like a good price? I may get some masterline pro lock gloves while I'm at it. Then it's just a better handle and barefoot rope left on my list...

I'm on HO Monza and I have double animals... I love them and yes they have a tendency to rip... If you store the ski inside it remedies that. My current bindings have overlays that are at least 7 to 8 years old... so it was the extreme summer and winter temperatures that degrades the rubber

Reflex ;) - but really HO animals are awesome...

It doesn't look like wake house has animal bindings...

Just looked at Reflex.:headbang:

Go with the Vectors, just make sure you get the correct size. I am a 10.5 and needed the XL. For the price you will like them.
